Russian e-taxi hailing service inDriver starts working in New York
MOSCOW, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- Russian online taxi hailing service inDriver has started working in New York, the company said on Tuesday in a statement.
The service is now available in all five boroughs of New York: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. It has already been joined by more than 5,000 local drivers licensed by the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC). inDriver also obtained the TLC license to work on the territory of the city.
The company will not charge commission from drivers for six months, and will charge 5–8% later.
Set up in 2012 in the Siberian city of Yakutsk, inDriver is currently used by more than 14 million users in over 160 cities in 11 countries. Drivers and passengers agree on the fare amount themselves.
